PSL Research University Paris

PSL Research University Paris is a university college founded in 2010, although several member institutes were founded during the Enlightenment such as the Collège de France, L’Observatoire de Paris and Beaux Arts. Originally formed of five institutions, it has since grown into 25 self governing academic and research institutions. It aims to be one of the leading research universities in the world.

One of the member academies, the highly selective École Normale Supérieure can be traced back to the post-revolutionary National Convention of 1794. It was originally established to train secondary school teachers to ensure an education consistent national education. Ecole Polytechnique

Based 10 kilometers from the center of Paris in the small Paris suburb of Palaiseau, École Polytechnique also known as l’X focuses on science and technology and has a student population of just under 3,000.

About a third of students are international and the École Polytechnique offers an interdisciplinary approach to undergraduate teaching and graduate research. As well as six different subjects in science and engineering, undergraduates must also take a humanities and sports science subject. University of Paris Dauphine

Sorbonne University

The Sorbonne University is a public research university in Paris. It was founded in 2018 through the merger of the University of Paris Sorbonne, the Pierre and Marie Curie University and several smaller academies.

The university has three faculties: humanities, sciences and medicine. Law is taught by the University of Panthéon Assas.
